Ray Atkinson: An obituary and a tribute

Published on March 24, 2022

Ray Atkinson

Ray completed his MBA in 1993, and since then was regularly found back at Greenlands, taking the time for personal reflection and to inspire others. Ray fully embraced his status as a Henley alumnus and was rightly proud of his MBA. He was a Mentor to Henley students and took great pleasure in guiding the next generation of students from classroom to workforce.

He is perhaps most well known for running the Leadership of Organisational Change Special Interest Group (LOCSIG) for many years, delivering a wide range of seminars and workshops to an engaged community, and for being an active member of the Alumni & Development Board.

He also launched the Dramatic Change initiative with fellow Henley alumnus, Christine Lithgow Smith, combining Ray’s expertise in coaching and change projects with Christine’s experience in the dramatic arts to produce a holistic approach to team effectiveness. You can find more information about that initiative here.

Always willing to share his knowledge, Ray wrote and curated a series of articles for us about change management and his insights into leadership. You can enjoy these here.

Ray’s infectious enthusiasm and positivity will be missed by al those who knew him, not least Henley’s global community.

We are able to pass tributes to Ray's family, please contact us if you wish to do so.
