2026 Pathways to Property Summer School

135 Year 12 students from across the UK came together at the University of Reading for the 14th annual Pathways to Property Summer School, an immersive programme designed to inspire the next generation of property professionals.

The 14th Pathways to Property Summer School took place at the University of Reading from 14–17 July, bringing together 135 Year 12 students from across the UK. The students spent the four days working on a project which involved pitching their own proposal for the phase 3 site of the Station Hill development in Reading, going on a site visit, hearing talks from a number of real estate academics, industry figures and past pathways participants, as well as a careers fair, Q&A session, team building activities and a careers session.  They also watched the football and created a brilliant atmosphere, though ultimately a disappointing result!

The final day of the event was the highlight as ever, with the groups overcoming their nerves to present to a range of senior industry guests, networking over lunch, and celebrating their achievements with the presentation of certificates in the afternoon.  The young people were engaged, enthusiastic and creative throughout, and we look forward to working with them further through the work experience week and mentoring they will be offered, and hope to see many of them working in the industry in the future.  A huge thank you to all our industry supporters for making the week possible.
