Erica Banfield Moore, a graduate of the Henley Business School MBA, looks back on a three‑year journey defined by growth, resilience, and deep personal discovery.
My MBA Journey with Henley Business School: Three Years of Growth, Resilience, and Personal Transformation. The diversity of the Henley community was another defining feature of my experience; I was granted the opportunity to have study groups with folks from different continents. This brought together different perspectives, experiences, and cultural viewpoints. I still maintain good friendships with these fellow alumni. Perhaps the most significant transformation for me was personal. The Personal Development aspect of the Henley program was the icing on the cake, as it was very significant and unique to other MBA programs, it served to open my mind and place the spotlight on myself for the first time in my life, as I’ve always placed others first in my roles as a wife, mother, professional and entrepreneur. It taught me how to manage and better understand better myself holistically.
What is one piece of advice you would share with a current student at Henley to inspire them in their career journey?
Success is not only achieving the MBA designation, but by enduring the various challenges, becoming better at making sound decisions and serving as a good example to your family, ultimately contributing value to our society. It is built through consistent effort, determination, and the willingness to keep learning every day. Systems Thinking stayed with me. The moments when you question whether you can manage the workload, balance competing priorities, or overcome the next challenge. During these times, remember why you started. Focus on what is in front of you. Every assignment completed, every discussion participated in, and every challenge overcome is building skills and capabilities that will serve you long after your graduation. It is worth it.
