
RREF Funded PhD Research: An Investigation of the Factors that influence Real Estate Appraisal Errors in Ghana by Ellen Kwofie
A core strategy of the Reading Real Estate Foundation (RREF) is to support and nurture the advancement of research in the sphere of Real Estate. We undertake this by funding two key initiatives, PhD Scholarships and RREF Seed Funding, to foster innovation at the Department of Real Estate and Planning, Henley Business School, a globally renowned centre for teaching and research excellence.
Each year RREF supports a PhD student in the department to commence their studies. Below we introduce our newest PhD student, Ellen Kwofie and a short summary of the research she will be exploring to complete her doctorate.

Ellen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Land Economy from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. After her degree, she served as a Teaching & Research Assistant at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She also holds an MSc in Environment and Development and an MSc in Real Estate Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and University of Reading respectively. Her job experience spans from collateral management to estate management and development. She has also served as a Research Assistant on a World Bank Project on the topic “Review of Resettlement Issues and Challenges in Bank- Funded Projects in West Africa”.(February – June 2018).
