Celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week at Henley: Together we Build

Published on November 7, 2025

Entrepreneurship at Henley:

From 17–23 November, Henley joins in celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week - a worldwide movement recognising innovators, changemakers and visionaries who turn ideas into impact.

At Henley Business School, entrepreneurship goes beyond starting a business; it’s about curiosity, resilience and the problem-solving mindset that empowers individuals to drive change, whether through launching a venture, innovating within an organisation or pursuing a creative idea.

This year’s theme, Together We Build, highlights the power of collaboration and community in shaping the future of enterprise. To mark the occasion, Henley Alumni have shared their journeys, lessons and advice to encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs. Below we have selected some of those stories to share with the Henley community.

Join us as we celebrate the spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines Henley - because when we share ideas and experience, together we build.

Role and Achievements:

As Managing Director of Hark Consultants and Founder of Hark Wellbeing - home to the soon-to-launch My Barre Vibes platform - I’ve built ventures that bridge strategy, technology, and wellbeing. At Hark Consultants, we advise fintech, professional services, and technology firms on growth, ecosystems, and innovation. My time at Henley shaped how I lead - combining strategic thinking with purpose-driven action - and gave me the confidence to scale ideas from vision to execution. The Greenlands experience instilled in me a global mindset and the resilience needed to thrive as a female founder in dynamic, fast-changing markets. Entrepreneurship, for me, grew from a desire to create impact through connection - connecting data with strategy, and movement with wellbeing. Henley’s collaborative environment and focus on reflective leadership inspired me to think holistically about success - not just commercial outcomes, but also human potential. It’s where I learned to listen deeply, lead authentically, and design ventures that bring balance, growth, and innovation together. Balancing the pace of entrepreneurship with sustainable growth - both business and personal - has been one of my greatest challenges.

Leading two ventures across different sectors requires adaptability and an unshakeable sense of purpose. I’ve learned to overcome this through community, collaboration, and curiosity - surrounding myself with mentors and partners who challenge and inspire me, much like my peers at Henley once did. On a personal front, pursuing an MBA pushes individuals beyond their comfort zones, prompting personal growth and the development of critical life skills. It refines critical thinking, leadership, and decision-making capabilities, encouraging a more reflective and strategic approach to tackling both professional and personal hurdles. The challenge of balancing demanding academic requirements with personal commitments enhances skills in time management, resilience, and adaptability. Additionally, the culturally diverse environment of MBA programs promotes a rich exchange of perspectives, significantly improving interpersonal skills and global awareness. This comprehensive professional and personal development not only moulds individuals into more dynamic and versatile professionals but also amplifies their capacity to make meaningful contributions to their organisations and communities. Overall, an MBA degree offers more than just an educational achievement; it is a transformative journey that reshapes one’s career trajectory and personal growth, paving the way for a fulfilling and impactful future.

Proudest Moments as an Entrepreneur:

My proudest moment has been seeing both of my ventures - Hark Consultants and Hark Wellbeing - evolve from ideas into purpose-led businesses that create tangible impact. Through Hark Consultants, I’ve had the privilege of helping global clients build innovative marketing and ecosystem-led strategies that drive growth and innovation, while My Barre Vibes has allowed me to translate my personal wellbeing journey into a platform that empowers others. Most recently, publishing my first book - The Platform Playbook: The Marketer’s Guide to Designing, Scaling, and Leading Platform Growth (Palgrave Macmillan, 2026) - has been a defining milestone, bringing together my expertise in ecosystem strategy, marketing, and leadership to inspire others to build with purpose.

Advice for Inspiring Entrepreneurs:

Start before you feel ready - clarity comes through action. Entrepreneurship is rarely a straight path; it’s a journey of curiosity, courage, and constant learning. Surround yourself with people who challenge your thinking and share your values, because collaboration fuels growth. Most importantly, build something that aligns with who you are - not just what you do. When your purpose and your business move in harmony, momentum follows naturally. My personal mantra: ‘Stay ever curious’.

Role and Achievements:

Completing my MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change at Henley was the catalyst for everything that followed. The programme gave me the academic foundation and confidence to develop my own intellectual property, blending neuroscience, emotional intelligence, and systemic thinking into what is now KK Collective. Since then, I’ve launched my first Elite Success Circle for women in business, begun writing my first book, and am building a scalable methodology to help other coaches grow purpose-driven, commercially strong practices. My biggest challenge after completing the MSc was finding the confidence to leave the corporate world behind fully. I continued my studies and built a global community, using coaching principles to drive success quietly in the background. However, the hardest and most transformative step was having the courage to step out of the shadows and create something bold that truly reflected my purpose.

Proudest Moments as an Entrepreneur:

My proudest moment as an entrepreneur has been launching my first Elite Success Circle, a concept born entirely from my own research, neuroscience studies, and leadership practice. Seeing a group of extraordinary women step into that space, connect deeply, and experience real transformation reminded me of why I built KK Collective in the first place. It was the moment I realised my vision had come to life not just as a business, but as a movement.

Advice for Inspiring Entrepreneurs:

Entrepreneurship isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about having the courage to take the first step and learn through action. Be guided by your purpose and values, not just the business plan. The most powerful ventures are born when authenticity meets ambition, and when you trust yourself enough to build what only you can create.

Role and Achievements:

I’m the Founder & CEO of Tendai ICT, building practical ICT/IoT/AI solutions that bridge the digital divide and create measurable community impact. As an award-winning entrepreneur, I’ve led projects across connectivity, security, and digital transformation and I’m now preparing the Lead With Purpose Foundation to develop values-driven leaders who build businesses that build Africa. Henley sharpened my strategic and financial discipline, strengthened my leadership mindset, and connected me to a powerful network—accelerating both commercial growth and social impact. What inspired you to start your own business, and how did Henley influence that journey? I started Tendai ICT to turn purpose into practical solutions—bringing technology access and resilience to underserved communities and growth-minded enterprises. Henley helped me translate vision into systems: clearer strategy, better governance, evidence-based execution, and a network that opens doors. Biggest challenge so far, and how you overcame it Our toughest challenge was scaling sustainably balancing growth with cash flow, talent, and delivery quality. We overcame it by tightening unit economics, professionalizing project and risk management, investing in leadership culture, and leveraging the Henley alumni network for mentorship, partnerships, and accountability.

Proudest Moments as an Entrepreneur:

Marking Tendai ICT’s 10-year milestone and seeing purpose turn into measurable impact, engineers we trained now leading teams, clients scaling because of resilient ICT/IoT solutions, and communities meaningfully connected. In that moment, I realized we weren’t just shipping projects; we were building people who build businesses. Preparing the Lead With Purpose Foundation to formalize that pipeline of purpose-driven leaders made it even more special.

Advice for Inspiring Entrepreneurs:

Start with purpose, not just product. Know why you’re building before you decide what to build. Entrepreneurship isn’t a straight line,it’s a test of vision, resilience, and values. Surround yourself with people who sharpen you, stay grounded in learning, and remember: progress begins when purpose meets action. Build something that outlasts you.

Role and Achievements:

I read law at Cambridge, qualified and practiced as a city lawyer but found it stultifyingly dull and wanted to be the client (not the instructed lackey). However my academic path to qualification as a lawyer had been characteristically narrow with little formal business training. I realized I needed a management degree to better equip me for life in business. I looked at the MBA courses at Harvard, City and Henley Management College (as it then was) and selected Henley. Why? Because I already knew I wanted to embark on an entrepreneurial business career - big business was not for me. I wanted to build and sail my own yachts, not captain a supertanker!

Proudest Moments as an Entrepreneur:

Building from scratch and selling several sizeable businesses, employing between them hundreds of people globally.

Advice for Inspiring Entrepreneurs:

Find something you're passionate about which offers a commercially viable, exploitable gap in the market. Clothe your business with sustainable USP's and barriers to entry and be prepared to work 24/7/365 to make it a success. Come your hoped-for exit, don't hang on too long or be too greedy.
