The Entrepreneurship Society release 24/25 programme of events after hosting a successful panel
The World of Work Institute and Entrepreneurship Society (supported by HELAB) host a successful AI, Innovation and Investment panel!
On 19 November, the Reading Entrepreneurship Society in partnership with the World of Work Institute welcomed students for an exciting speakers’ panel titled ‘AI, Innovation and Investment’.
The panel featured three distinguished guest speakers: Dobromir (Dob) Todorov, Technology Startup Enthusiast, HBA member & Investor, Entrepreneur, and Business & Technology Advisor; Nisreen Ameen, Top 100 Marketing Influencer of 2024, AI in Marketing expert, and Ambassador for Research, Institute of Directors; and Petterson Carvalho, Entrepreneur, Investor, and Business Advisor.

The seminar attracted over 40 students from across the University, eager to learn about the transformative impact of AI on entrepreneurship. The speakers shared insights on how AI is revolutionizing products, services, and business models, enabling rapid market entry and innovation.
Discussions covered a range of topics, from local to global market trends, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of AI’s role in reshaping the business landscape. The speakers emphasized the importance of experimenting with AI tools and developing technical skills, which are highly sought after by employers. A show of hands revealed that all attendees were already familiar with AI chatbots like ChatGPT.
A highlight of the seminar was the discussion on AI strategies for SMEs. The speakers unanimously agreed that SMEs have AI strategies and use AI tools across their operations whether for automation, marketing, and recruitment to drive growth.
The event concluded with Prof Keiichi Nakata, Head of the Digitalisation, Marketing and Entrepreneurship Department and a member of the World of Work Institute, extending a vote of thanks to the speakers, Sam Hirsch, President of the Entrepreneurship Society, and the students. Attendees were then invited to network and enjoy refreshments.
The Entrepreneurship Society has released the programme of events for the remainder of 2024/2025 which all students and alumni are invited to attend.
