Savills inducted into the College of Benefactors

Launched in 2014, the College of Benefactors recognises and celebrates the generosity of supporters who have made exceptional gifts to the University of Reading. Induction into the College is the highest honour that the University can bestow upon a donor, whether individual or corporation. We are delighted that Savills has been inducted to the College this July in recognition for their generous support that has had a transformative impact on teaching and research. They were admitted into the College during this Summer's graduation ceremony on Tuesday 18 July.

Savills is a global real estate services provider with a network of more than 40,000 people in over 700 offices across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East. A FTSE 250 company headquartered in London, Savills advises corporate, institutional, and private clients who are seeking to acquire, lease, develop or realise the value of residential and commercial property in the world's key locations.

As Corporate Patrons of the Reading Real Estate Foundation (RREF), a registered charity and a subsidiary of the University, Savills have supported and continue to support the core activities of the foundation. This includes seed funding of research undertaken at the University and the award of bursaries and hardship funds to Real Estate & Planning students. The company, a major employer of Real Estate & Planning graduates, also promotes the Foundation’s mentoring scheme and career development activities, such as the Access Internships scheme. Furthermore, Savills are Gold level supporters of Pathways to Property, a RREF initiative aimed at widening participation in the real estate sector now in its eleventh year.

Much of RREF’s work is aimed at strengthening the links between the Department of Real Estate & Planning, its graduates and the wider industry to help support and develop the quality of real estate education at Henley Business School, University of Reading; and to help maintain its position and raise awareness worldwide as a centre of excellence for real estate education and research. Savills long standing relationship with RREF and the University of Reading is key in promoting the delivery of these aims.
