RREF Annual Review 2024-2025

Published on December 11, 2025

Join us in celebrating the release of the RREF Annual Review, for academic year 2024-2025

The RREF Team would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our corporate patrons, donors, and volunteers for thier generous support of the Reading Real Estate Foundation (RREF) over the last academic year. It is our pleasure to share with you the latest Annual Review, highlighting the work of the charity in the 2024/25 academic year.

Corporate and individual financial support, together with engagement are core reasons that RREF can continue to support the Department of Real Estate & Planning at the University of Reading, contributing to it maintaining its position at the forefront of academic research and education.

The Annual Review highlights RREF’s diverse range of support to faculty and students, as well as to the wider industry. The combined generosity of our community has seed-funded new avenues of research, enabled students to access Real Estate & Planning degree courses regardless of their financial circumstances, and supported academic excellence through scholarships.

RREF has had a real, lasting impact on students in the Real Estate & Planning sector

RREF is proud to have supported students with over £282,282 in funding during the 2024–2025 academic year, reflecting our deep commitment to widening participation and enabling talent to thrive. This year, we awarded 18 bursaries, 7 scholarships, and 11 hardship grants, ensuring students could continue their studies despite unexpected financial pressures. In addition, 144 students took part in the 2025 Summer School, gaining valuable industry exposure and development opportunities through our Pathways to Property initiative. Together, these initiatives demonstrate the meaningful impact of RREF’s mission to empower the next generation of real estate and planning professionals.

RREF Dinner 2025

We were delighted to see over 150 friends, supporters and alumni join us at the RREF Dinner in June 2025. Held at the stunning One Great George St in Westminster after a seven-year hiatus, guests enjoyed reception drinks, kindly sponsored by Yugo, and delicious three-course meal whilst reconnecting with each other.

A highlight of the evening was hearing from Mith Sivapalan
, a Pathways to Property attendee, a current recipient of the AreYou? Bursary, and current Real Estate student. He shared the impact that receiving support has made on his life and future aspirations;  you can read an excerpt of Mith’s speech on page 14.

Thank you to our RREF Community

All of these achievements are only possible due to the ongoing support of our corporate patrons, donors, volunteers and those who engage with RREF, for which we are profoundly grateful.
