Giving Tuesday
As we approach ‘Giving Tuesday’, a globally recognised day encouraging people to do good falling on Tuesday 29th November, we thank all those supporting the bursaries and hardship funding that Henley Business School is able offer. This is also an opportunity to reflect on how important and impactful your donations are, especially at a time of crisis.
A recent article produced by Hunterlodge highlights how 92% of undergraduates are concerned about the rising cost of living. The huge increase in the price of food, bills and rent leads to negative effects on students’ mental health, meaning that they cannot fulfil their potential in their studies. Not only does this have a negative effect on current students, but also on prospective students from financially disadvantaged homes, who question their ability to afford higher education. This leads to academically gifted young people deciding to forego entering university, diluting the talent and experience that comes on to the Henley programmes.
In order to support students in financial need, Henley Business School runs a fund, entirely supported by our community, offering help to those in unexpected financial hardship for no fault of their own. This supplements the Henley Bursary, again supported by our community, which is offered to academically gifted students who would otherwise be unable to consider a university education.
Celebrate with us Giving Tuesday 2022 with a gift to the Henley Student Support Fund, so that we can help the increasing number of students needing your support at this time of crisis. Be part of a global movement that inspires millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity by making a gift here. Thanks to the power of collecting giving, gifts of all size will make a huge difference towards relieving students from the financial pressure they are currently facing.
